Heartsease taught us the original six person version of this dance during Tour of the Dales 2007 desoite the assistance of a certain ginger cat!  Two ropes are held between each couple and are woven into the knot at the begginning of that dance.  The knot forms the centre and maypole figures can than be danced around it. The team has adapted the dance for 8 dances which has allowed us to include more figurs.  At present these are 'twists' which produces a cross with 4 twisted legs, 'web' which is based on the maypole dance spiders web and produces a centre piece which has been compared to a cat's cradle and 'weave' which is based on the mypole figure single platting and procues a plaitted pole which usually hangs down but occasionally sticks up in the centre (comments about fertility dances have been made!)  This dance is still being developed and our band have not yet completely settled the music for it.
